Customising your blog
Make your blog your own. Identity settings live in Settings → About, and visual design options are in Settings → Appearance.
About
Found in Settings → About. These settings control how your blog introduces itself to readers.
Bio
Add a short bio that appears on your blog's home page. This is a great place to introduce yourself or describe what your blog is about.
Title
By default, your blog title is your username (e.g. @joel). You can change it to anything you like.
Avatar
Premium feature. Upload an image that appears next to your blog title.
Appearance
Found in Settings → Appearance. These settings control how your blog looks. Most changes apply immediately making it easy to see the results. Note that Custom colours and Custom CSS have their own Save buttons.
Colour scheme
Choose from several pre-made themes:
- Monochrome — Clean black and white
- Mint — Soft green tones
- Lavender — Purple-tinted
- Coral — Warm peachy tones
- Sand — Earthy beige
- Sky — Light blue accents
- Berry — Pink and magenta
Or choose Custom to pick your own colours for background, text, and accent — for both light and dark mode.
All themes automatically support dark mode based on your reader's system preference.
Font
Choose between three font styles:
- Sans — Clean, modern sans-serif
- Serif — Classic, traditional serif
- Mono — Monospaced, typewriter-style
Content width
Control how wide your content appears:
- Narrow — Tighter column, great for reading
- Standard — Balanced width
- Wide — More room for images and content
Layout
Choose how posts appear on your home page:
- Stream — Full post content in a vertical feed
- List of Titles — Compact list with dates and titles
- Cards — Grid of cards with excerpts
Branding
Premium feature. Choose whether to hide the Pagecord logo at the bottom of your blog (please consider keeping it to spread the good word about Pagecord!)
Theme Garden
Found in Settings → Appearance → Theme Garden link. Premium feature.
The Theme Garden is a curated collection of CSS templates that you can preview and apply to your blog with one click. Each template is a complete design – combining custom CSS with optional colour scheme, font, layout, and width settings.
- Preview any template to see how it looks with your own blog content (opens in a new tab)
- Apply a template to instantly update your blog's appearance
- Templates use your blog's colour scheme variables, so switching colour scheme after applying a template still works
If you already have Custom CSS, you'll be asked to confirm before applying a template (since it replaces your existing CSS).
Have a CSS design you'd like to share with the community? Email us and we may add it to the garden.
